At FlowWest, we believe meaningful environmental solutions start with community voices. That’s why we’re proud to support projects like the Wildcat Creek Awareness Campaign, a powerful collaboration led by The Watershed Project and a diverse network of partners in Richmond, CA.
Over the past year, this campaign has been more than an environmental initiative—it’s been a movement rooted in environmental justice, education, and stewardship. With a focus on empowering local youth, residents, and community leaders, the project has brought renewed awareness to Wildcat Creek’s ecological value and the risks posed by flooding, pollution, and degraded infrastructure.
Through a series of community events—including creek walks, visioning workshops, youth storytelling, and green infrastructure tours—the project has inspired a shared vision for a healthier, more resilient watershed. This vision is deeply shaped by community priorities, including flood safety, recreational access, and habitat restoration.
FlowWest has been honored to support this work through technical studies and design support that align with the community’s goals for Wildcat Creek. Our team is currently advancing design drawings that prioritize fish passage at the Wildcat Creek fish passage structure and sediment basin while centering environmental equity and access. These designs are informed by the voices and visions gathered throughout the project—ensuring the future of Wildcat Creek reflects those who live and thrive along its banks.
We’re excited to continue collaborating with The Watershed Project, Restoration Design Group, and the many community organizations and advocates leading the way. Projects like this reflect our shared belief: that environmental progress must be rooted in inclusion, local knowledge, and long-term stewardship.
