FlowWest to sponsor ACWA DC 2024 Conference

Every spring, the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) hosts a conference in Washington, D.C. to bring together administration officials, federal policymakers, and public water agencies to network and advocate for good water policy. This February 27-29, FlowWest is a sponsor of the ACWA conference – meaning Co-Founder Mark Tompkins and Data Analyst Liz Stebbins are heading to D.C. to meet with federal legislators, advocate for data infrastructure in natural resources management, and to learn about goals for public water agencies on a policy level.

FlowWest’s data team regularly attends conferences and events; Liz is seen here with Erin Cain at the New Mexico Water Data Workshop, May 2023.

This event will bring together the work that FlowWest does every day – supporting bringing crucial environmental data to the public – with broader strategy for all California water agencies. We hope to build stronger relationships with other professionals in the field and be part of coalition-building to make sure that federal policy supports monitoring and data infrastructure in California water systems. This will support the work our clients do on the ground and hopefully support longevity and sustainability in water management in the state.
