The Upper Mattaponi Tribe lacked a centralized system for managing geospatial and environmental data, making it difficult to submit information to the EPA’s Water Quality Exchange Network and limiting their ability to leverage data in watershed management efforts.

Digital Transformation
FlowWest secured two EPA Exchange Network Grants in 2021 and 2022 to develop a comprehensive data management plan, create a centralized database and geospatial data warehouse, and establish a process for uploading water quality data to the EPA's Exchange Network Portal.
Empowered Insights
With enhanced data management capabilities, the Upper Mattaponi Tribe has an increased data toolkit to make informed decisions and effectively manage its watershed.
