Central Valley salmon populations are facing severe decline, threatening their survival and impacting local communities and economies dependent on these species. Reorienting to recovery is a multiphase and collaborative project focused on developing an inclusive, landscape-scale process for Central Valley Salmonids.

Leveraging Technology to Communicate Science
FlowWest, leading the modeling efforts, collaborated with a science advisory and technical team to update the CVPIA SIT models. We developed a documentation site and various data visualization tools to enhance transparency and communication, facilitating a structured decision-making process.

Lasting Tools and Social Networks
The project fostered an inclusive and collaborative approach to salmonid recovery, providing open-source models and data for public use. These tools not only supported current recovery efforts but also aimed to guide future management processes, promoting sustainable salmon populations and benefiting the Central Valley community and economy.
