FlowWest has collaborated with the Yurok Tribe to migrate their decades-old software system and modernize the data analysis and management tools they use to run their Klamath River salmon harvest management program.
Advancing Salmon Data Management through Collaboration
Our collaboration began with providing recommendations for upgrading the system using a suite of open source analysis and data management tools, followed by the development salmon harvest management data tables, program code for several frequently used programs, and new harvest management software with a suite of tools capable of supporting statistical reports, graphs, and tables for data presentation. FlowWest’s work yielded benefits including a new open source software package customized for salmon harvest management, significantly improved QA/QC capabilities, and increased data processing speed for Tribal fisheries staff.
